OUR HISTORY

The Story

THE FISH WALL

In 2014, Coco and Louise ran a small community schools project to create a vibrant, tactile mural on a grey wall on the Ham at the Eastern End of Sidmouth.  This has become known as the Fish Wall and provides a much loved visual connection to the sea as local people and visitors pass it on their way to and from the seafront.

DRILL HALL

Founding Directors of Sidmouth Drill Hall Hub CIC were Louise Cole and Matt Booth who together with Kay, Mary, Coco and Saul Vicary established Sidmouth Sea Fest on the annual events calendar of Sidmouth, delivered a Responsible Tourism project TourFish led by Greenwich University and established our Creativity on the Coast art and fishing project for schools.

Originally founded as a campaign to Save Sidmouth Drill Hall, our work has diversified.  We continue to support the case for a permanent venue in the Eastern End of Sidmouth as a community and visitor space for art, fishing heritage, food, community education and coastal activity.

The campaign to preserve Sidmouth Drill Hall is now run by http://drillhall.rescue.historic-sidmouth.uk/
